Keyboard shortcuts
On a Mac, add things, change view, move through your things and undo, all without leaving the keyboard.
On a Mac, you can also do everything from the keyboard. On an iPad with a keyboard, the arrow keys, Return and Space move through lists in the same way.
Anywhere in the app
- ⌘N: “New Thing to Plan…”
- ⇧⌘N: “New Event…”
- ⌘1 to ⌘4: the calendar in Day, Week, Month or Year view
- ⌘← and ⌘→: the previous or next period; ⌘T: “Today”
- ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z: undo and redo the last change
- ⌘,: “Settings…”
- ⌘?: this guide
In lists
- ↓ and ↑ move from one thing to the next in “It's time”, “To plan”, “Contacts” or “News”.
- Return opens the selected one, just like a double-click.
- In “It's time”, Space adds or removes “I'm on it”.
On the calendar
- Click once to select an appointment, a thing or an event; double-click to open it.
- ⌫ or ⌦: cancels an appointment, takes a task out of the week, marks something done as not done, or deletes an event. You won't be asked first: “Undo” is in the bubble that appears next.
- Esc: nothing stays selected.
- When you've placed something and a question asks you to confirm: press Return for yes, Esc for no.
- Double-click a free hour, or drag the mouse across a time slot: “New event”.
- Right-click to open the menu for a thing or an appointment, just like a long press on iPhone.
You can also do everything by dragging: see Drag and drop on the calendar.
